Where are the cartoons?

It’s been a while since my last cartoon! That’s because I’ve been working on my next short film, Juracan. I’m around 20% done with the film, which means there’s still a long way to go, but it has meant there have been less uploads.

That being said, I have been playing around with Procreate Dreams, the animation app from the developers of the fantastic iPad drawing app, to see if it could maybe complement or replace Clip Studio (which is what I use for my animations).

To test it out, I animated a quick and simple cartoon featuring some finches. It’s basic and doesn’t have a lot of shading, I just wanted to get a grasp on how the app works. I enjoyed the drawing experience, especially its clever UI and UX that makes it very easy to use as a touch screen drawing and animation app. But it did seem a lot less efficient at certain tasks (such as coloring per frame), and its very unique workflow does give it a sizable learning curve for new users.

Thank you for your patience!
