Finally, a Shadow cartoon! I originally intended this video to star Luigi, inspired by the meme of “they had to contain him…” in which a doll of Luigi is shown lit from below inside an arcade game window.
The original script, from November 17, is as follows:
Luigi is in a high tech container.
Gov official: “We had to contain him”
Daisy breaks in and slams a big red button
Daisy: “Let him go!!!”
The high tech container shuts down
Luigi’s eyes open, glowing white with lighting coming out of them
The container explodes, Luigi rises, floating above the ground, eyes glowing in a T-pose
Luigi: luigi noises
Gov official: “May God have mercy on our souls.”
Come to think of it, if I had kept it being about Luigi, it would have been even more topical….
However, since the release of the movie Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was coming up, I wanted to change the story to involve Shadow the Hedgehog instead. Daisy was replaced by Maria and was made to be silent, and the government official was replaced by Gerald Robotnik.
Gerald was voiced by The Game Counselor, who is a frequent collaborator of mine.
Since Shadow would not be a good host for Luigi noises, I made him Dominican instead. Shadow now ends the video by singing La Dueña del Swing by Los Hermanos Rosario.
