Baby Sonic hugs the Cat

Intended as a finale to the Baby Sonic series, this short finds the Cat now friends with Baby Sonic. She is now very protective of him.

Finale – Part 2 (Baby Sonic hugs the Cat)

Back at the house, Baby Sonic crawls towards the Cat. 

The Cat opens one eye, noticing Baby Sonic staring at her.

Baby Sonic stops crawling towards her, and just sits watching her.

The Cat closes her eye, and Baby Sonic gets closer.

She opens her eye, Baby Sonic stops.

This repeats until Baby Sonic is right above her. He is nervous, but will try to hug her again.

This time, he hugs her, and she lets him. The Cat smiles.

The End

As the script shows, this was originally going to be closer to the third video, where Baby Sonic grabs the Cat but the Cat fights back. However, I decided to change it to get a chance to draw and animate something new. The new format was inspired by this Tumblr post, actually!

I also experimented with new ways of shading and lighting the characters, one of my least favorite parts of animating (and yet one of the most critical ones to making the cartoons look good).
