For his entry in the Fall 2024 Cap City Video Lounge 48 Hour Film Competition in Tallahassee, FL, director Spencer Hopkins asked for an animated segment to open it. This was his vision:
“I was thinking of having a character running, with trees passing by. They stop and look around, then continue running. They come upon a house and there can be a closeup of them saying “there’s no place like home” and then they go inside (but the “camera” remains outside)”
He also gave it a name:

And so, it became this:

I was able to make the few seconds-long segment within the morning and sent it over. Because of the logistics of a short being made in less than 48 hours, there was no way to give it sound or to lip sync it with the voice-over being recorded concurrently, but it seemed to come out alright for the intended purpose.
